About the camp
Check out last year's camp videos here.
The cobwebs have been taken out of storage. The zombie costumes have been checked. The Witch has been informed when the participants are arriving.
If you are 11–17 years old, join us at AKS Campsite 3 during the autumn holidays. No certificate of bravery will be required at the entrance. We will spend four days inside our own Halloween world: talking, chasing ghosts, escaping zombies, carving pumpkins, watching a film and heading out on a night hike. By the second day, somebody will probably already have acquired a new nickname and a story that will be difficult to explain to their parents without additional context.
English will be the language of everyday camp life, as some of our camp leaders come from other countries. It will not be a separate lesson. We will use English to meet new people, plan activities, share stories and urgently explain why there is a fake hand lying in the corridor.
You do not need to be the first person to join every activity. Some participants immediately place themselves at the centre of events; others prefer to look around first. Both are normal at AKS. You do not need to be the loudest, the bravest or the most similar to everyone else in order to belong.
As it will be autumn, the weather may bring rain, snow or several seasons within the same afternoon. We will therefore sleep indoors rather than in tents. This is good news for everyone’s toes, but less helpful for the number of available places.
Around 40 people fit at AKS Campsite 3. If we really, really try, we can accommodate 45, although enthusiasm alone does not make the walls move. Halloween Camp is often fully booked by September, so early registration is strongly recommended.
FIRST TIME AT AKS? Have a look at previous camp stories on our Instagram account, @anglukalbosstudija. They show what camp life actually looks like rather than a suspiciously tidy advertising version of it.
You can also call Aurelija on +370 627 24960 with any questions, uncertainties or concerns. This includes asking whether the camp would suit a teenager who genuinely wants to come but usually spends the first day in a new place pretending not to want anything.
Price
Early bookings 100 EUR, last weeks before the camp (from Oct 21) 120 EUR, meals included.
Arrival
Arrival is recommended on Wednesday, 4 November, from 19:00. Participants who cannot arrive that evening may come early on Thursday morning.
The camp ends on Saturday, 7 November, at 12:00.
Participants arrange their own transport to the campsite. If you do not have a lift, contact us and we will try to find a seat in another participant’s car. We cannot guarantee that this will be possible, although carless participants and some empty seats usually manage to find one another.
Accommodation
We will stay in a heated house at AKS Campsite 3. It has indoor toilets, hot water and electricity. It may also be haunted, although this service is not officially included in the camp fee.
Participants need to bring their own sleeping equipment: a mattress, sleeping bag or duvet. We will sleep in our own spaces arranged on the floor. Several pairs of warm socks are recommended. Ghosts have issued no official statement regarding bare feet, but Lithuanian November has strong opinions on the subject. A hat would also be useful.
The house will be warm, but some activities will take place outside. Please bring warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear. The objective is not to prove that you can survive November rain in a thin hoodie.
Participants sleep in several separate areas. At least two camp leaders stay overnight in each sleeping space.
What to bring
As this is a themed camp, Halloween decorations and accessories are very welcome. You may bring pumpkins, orange or black clothes, wigs, face paint, cobwebs, fake hands, fake blood or anything else that would be difficult to carry into an ordinary Wednesday without attracting questions.
You may arrive dressed as a skeleton, zombie, witch or another creature you feel represents you accurately. You may also arrive in a black hoodie and spend some time observing what is happening. We do not award points for costume complexity.
The opening scenario may begin as soon as you enter the campsite. Before camp, participants and parents will receive clear information explaining how it will work.
How to register
You can register by clicking HERE.
After registering, please pay a non-refundable €20 deposit. Once we receive it, we will confirm the booking and add the participant to the camp list. Completing the registration form alone does not reserve a place. Zombies do not make administrative exceptions.
During the final week before camp, we will send you the Camp Agreement, Parent Consent Form, Camp Rules, packing list and directions to the campsite. Signed documents may be emailed to us in advance or brought to camp.
The remaining balance may be paid by bank transfer before camp or in cash upon arrival.
Questions are welcome by phone, message or email. No question is too small, strange or overly specific. Those are usually the useful ones.
