Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT) is an internationally recognised computer-based English placement test developed by Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

The test quickly and accurately assesses your English language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

CEPT is an adaptive test, meaning that the difficulty of the questions changes based on your answers, ensuring that the final result reflects your actual level of English.

Who is the CEPT test for?

The CEPT test is suitable for anyone who needs to determine their English language level, for example:

  • applying to universities or study programmes;
  • applying for a job in Lithuania or abroad;
  • civil service recruitment;
  • at an employer's request;
  • assessing your English before starting a language course or preparing for an international English exam.

How does the test work?

The test is computer-based and assesses your Reading, Use of English, and Listening skills.
Because the test is adaptive, it automatically adjusts the difficulty of the questions according to your performance. As you progress, the tasks become either more challenging or easier, depending on your answers.
Your results are available immediately after completing the test.

The test can be taken either in person (at our Vilnius or Kaunas branches) or online.

If you are taking the test in person, please bring your ID document and, if you prefer to use your own rather than ours, headphones. If you are taking the test online, please be prepared to show your ID document via your computer camera, make sure your computer microphone is working, and ensure that your computer has permission to share the screen via the Google Meet platform.

The test takes approximately 60–80 minutes.

The price of the test (including the certificate) is EUR 50 if taken on weekdays (between 08:00 and 17:00) and EUR 65 if taken at weekends or outside working hours (before 08:00 or after 17:00 on weekdays).

We will be happy to help you prepare for the test in advance. If you do not feel confident, you can book a few individual lessons with a teacher to review your knowledge, practise, and feel more confident on the day of the test. The price of one individual lesson is EUR 40. Please note that our staff will not be able to assist you during the test itself.
